The study of the paranormal, which includes ghost hunting, UFOs, and other supernatural phenomena, has been a topic of interest for centuries. However, despite the popularity of the field, there remains a significant amount of controversy and skepticism surrounding it. This article aims to examine the reasons behind this skepticism and the controversy surrounding the paranormal field, including the role of celebrities like Zakk Baggans and others.
One of the primary reasons for skepticism surrounding the paranormal is the lack of scientific evidence. Many paranormal phenomena, such as ghosts and UFOs, have yet to be proven to exist through scientific means. This has led to criticism of the field as being based on anecdotal evidence and personal belief rather than scientific fact. Additionally, some argue that the methods used in paranormal research, such as ghost hunting, are not scientifically rigorous and are subject to manipulation and trickery.
“As a skeptic and a fan of Fox Mulder, I believe that the truth is out there waiting to be found. That’s why I joined Brooklyn Paranormal Society, to investigate and uncover the truth behind paranormal claims with scientific rigor and critical thinking.”
William Garcia, Brooklyn Paranormal Society member.
Another reason for skepticism is the prevalence of charlatans and frauds within the paranormal field. Throughout history, there have been numerous instances of individuals claiming to possess special powers or abilities to communicate with the dead, only to be exposed as frauds. This has led to a mistrust of those claiming to have expertise in the paranormal, and has contributed to the skepticism of the field as a whole.
The increased popularity of the paranormal field in recent years, driven in part by the rise of television shows and celebrity ghost hunters like Zakk Baggans, has also led to controversy. Some argue that the emphasis on entertainment over education in these shows has led to a distorted view of the field and has perpetuated misconceptions about the paranormal. Additionally, the use of sensationalism and theatrics in these shows has further contributed to the skepticism of the field.
Uri Geller is a well-known psychic and paranormal performer who rose to fame in the 1970s for his supposed ability to bend spoons and perform other psychic feats. Geller claimed that his abilities were the result of psychic powers, but his claims were met with significant skepticism from the scientific community. In 1973, James Randi, a magician and skeptic, exposed Geller as a fraud on live television. Skepticism surrounding the paranormal field rose instantly across the world in real-time.
The live television event, called “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson,” featured Geller performing a series of psychic feats while Randi, who was hidden behind a screen, used simple magic tricks to replicate Geller’s supposed abilities. Geller was unable to perform any of his psychic feats while Randi was able to replicate them all. The exposure on live television was a major blow to Geller’s credibility, and many people began to question the authenticity of his psychic abilities. Since then, Geller has been largely discredited as a psychic, and his methods are now known to be based on deception and trickery.
It’s important to note that not all paranormal research and investigation is based on pseudoscience or fraud. There are professionals and organizations that conduct research with the highest scientific standards and rigor. However, the field’s association with sensationalism and charlatanism has led to a general mistrust of paranormal research, and a perception that the field is not credible.
In conclusion, the controversy and skepticism surrounding the paranormal field are multifaceted and have been driven by a variety of factors, including a lack of scientific evidence, the prevalence of fraud and charlatanism, and the emphasis on entertainment over education in popular media.
While the field may have its fair share of controversies and skepticism, it is important to remember that there are professionals and organizations that conduct research with the highest standards of scientific rigor. It is important to approach any paranormal claims with a healthy dose of skepticism and critical thinking, but also keeping an open mind to the possibility that there may be some truth to the phenomena that we don’t yet understand.

David Flynn
In “Haunted Porta Potty”, Flynn tells the tale of a group of construction workers who encounter a strange, haunted portable toilet on a cemetery construction site. The toilet is haunted by the ghost of a little girl with blonde curls and a blood-filled right eye, and as more and more of the workers disappear inside, they become desperate to solve the mystery.
As the story unfolds, the workers try to avoid the haunted toilet, but they can’t help but be drawn to it. And in the end, the toilet simply disappears into the clouds, leaving the workers to wonder what happened to their missing colleagues.

People have been fascinated by the types of UFOs for centuries, as these mysterious objects in the sky have left us wondering about the limits of our understanding and the possibility of otherworldly beings. Despite the abundance of UFO sightings, we still do not know much about these enigmatic objects. Are they the result of natural phenomena, advanced military technology, or something else entirely? The answer remains a mystery, but one thing is certain: the study of UFOs continues to captivate the imaginations of people around the world.
Are they mere hallucinations or misidentifications, or could they be something more sinister and otherworldly? As we delve into the 21 known types of UFOs, we can’t help but wonder what secrets they may hold, and what dangers they may pose to humanity. So buckle up and get ready to be taken on a journey through the unknown, as we explore the mysterious world of unidentified flying objects.
The 21 Types of UFOs
Unidentified flying objects, or UFOs, have captivated the imaginations of people around the world for decades. While there is no scientific evidence to support the idea that UFOs are alien spacecraft, people continue to report seeing a wide variety of objects and phenomena in the sky that they believe are UFOs. Here are 21 of the most common shapes that have been reported:
#1 – Shape-shifting Types of UFOs
One of the most mysterious types of UFOs are those that are reported to change shape or appearance while they are being observed. Some people believe that these objects may be using advanced shape-shifting technology that allows them to transform into different forms.
One possibility is that these objects are alien spacecraft that are equipped with sophisticated camouflage systems that allow them to blend in with their surroundings. This technology could potentially allow the spacecraft to take on the appearance of clouds, stars, or even other objects in the sky, making them difficult to detect and identify.
Alternatively, some people believe that the shape-shifting abilities of these UFOs could be related to the use of advanced materials or energy fields. For example, the UFO might be made of a material that is capable of changing its shape and appearance in response to external stimuli, or it could be using an energy field to manipulate its own form.
Regardless of the technology at play, it is clear that changing UFOs represent one of the most fascinating and enigmatic types of unidentified flying objects. Their ability to transform and adapt has captured the imaginations of people around the world, and it is a testament to the boundless possibilities of the universe.
I first seen multiple lights…round in nature…and thought to myself am I really seeing this?! So I grabbed my phone and took pictures!
It definitely is a UFO sighting. I have pictures. No one else seems to have seen this or is able to explain what happened. This one was different from what I have experienced in the past. I do have photos on my ring doorbell from previous times too.

#2 – Chevron Shaped Types of UFOs
UFOs that are shaped like an upside-down V or chevron are often referred to as “Chevron” UFOs.
One example is the F-14 Tomcat, a military fighter jet that was used by the United States Navy from the 1970s until the 2000s. The F-14 has a distinctive shape, with two tail fins that are set at an angle and resemble a chevron.
Another example is the B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber, a military aircraft that is designed to be difficult to detect by radar. The B-2 has a unique, bat-like appearance, with a triangular body and wings that are angled to form a chevron shape.
While these aircraft are known to have a chevron shape, it is important to note that not all Chevron UFOs can be easily explained away as being known aircraft. Many people continue to report seeing objects in the sky that have a chevron shape and whose identity cannot be immediately established, and the true nature of these objects remains a mystery.
I was laying in bed looking out the window partly cloudy day and started taking pictures towards sun when I saw the bright orange color. Started taking pictures before it disappeared behind the clouds. You can see obvious Chem like trail behind it. This is not the first time I have captured strange objects on camera but first time during day. This object was of Chevron symbol and looked to be ablaze it was so bright. This is not the only on I have several different occurrences and pictures dating back several years of crazy things in the clouds.

#3 – Cigar Shaped Types of UFOs
While getting ready to take off from PWA, I looked to the NW (wearing NVG’s) and saw an elongated oval shaped object
As stated above, I saw the elongated object moving from 2 to 4 o’clock. It was not visible without looking through NVG’s. It had no lights. When comparing it to the planes in the airspace around it, it was very large. Bigger than 3 777’s. When it got to the 4 o’clock position it faded away quickly. The skies were clear.

Blimps are cigar shaped, and could be confused for UFOs.
Low cloud, 5 lights circling in the distance, then 5 lights directly over my car.
I watched them whilst driving for a couple of minutes until I turned left, i kept trying to look to see if they were still there. I turned into a small village Culham about 5:50, my car radio started playing up, white noise, I hit the radio button a few times and it went back to normal. I left the village on a road called The Burycroft, very straight and dark.
Five balls of light in a row went over my car ahead of me, (maybe 25-30 metre high, they stopped at the end of the road then came back, the lights stayed in a line, this happened three times in total, very quick and in a matter of seconds. My blood rain cold, I was quite shaken but didn’t want to stop the car.
The lights were bright, not blinding, they didn’t appear to have any solidity, there was no sound. Nothing like this has ever happened to me, I didn’t believe in such things
Welcome to how hypnosis works. Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention and increased suggestibility that has been used for centuries for a variety of purposes. From ancient spiritual practices to modern scientific study, hypnosis has evolved over time and has been shown to be a powerful tool for personal growth and well-being.
In this article, we will explore how hypnosis works, the history and principles of hypnosis, the benefits of self-hypnosis, and how to learn the practice for yourself. Whether you are looking to manage stress, overcome negative habits, or improve your overall well-being, hypnosis may be worth considering as a tool for self-improvement.
How Hypnosis Works
The exact mechanisms of how hypnosis works are still not fully understood, but it is thought to involve a state of heightened suggestibility in which the subject is more open to suggestions from the hypnotist.
A Picasso-like view of hypnosis.
During hypnosis, the subject’s attention is focused and their level of consciousness is altered, allowing them to be more receptive to positive suggestions.
There are different methods that hypnotists use to induce hypnosis in their subjects.
One common method is called “rapid induction,” in which the hypnotist uses verbal commands and physical gestures to bring the subject into a state of hypnosis quickly.
Another method is called “progressive relaxation,” in which the hypnotist guides the subject through a series of relaxation techniques to achieve a state of hypnosis.
Introduction to Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention and increased suggestibility that has been used for centuries for a variety of purposes. While the practice of hypnosis has evolved over time, its origins can be traced back to ancient civilizations where it was often associated with spiritual or occult practices.
In ancient Egypt, hypnosis was used as a form of healing and spiritual transformation, with the god of sleep and dreams, Somnus, being invoked for this purpose. In ancient Greece, hypnosis was also associated with spiritual practices and was often used in conjunction with divination and prophecy. The Greek god of sleep, Hypnos, was said to have the power to bring about a state of hypnosis in individuals.
During the 18th and 19th centuries, hypnosis became more scientific in nature and was studied by scholars and physicians. However, it was still often associated with the occult and was viewed with skepticism by many in the scientific community. It wasn’t until the 20th century that hypnosis began to be more widely accepted and studied as a legitimate scientific practice.
How the Hypnotic State Works
The hypnotic state is a natural state of focused attention and increased suggestibility that we all experience at various points in our lives. It’s a bit like being absorbed in a good book or movie, where you become so engrossed that you lose track of time and your surroundings. During hypnosis, the conscious mind is temporarily bypassed, allowing the hypnotist to communicate directly with the unconscious mind to make positive changes.

Inducing a state of hypnosis can be done through various techniques, such as guided visualization, progressive muscle relaxation, and the use of hypnosis scripts. It’s important to find a method that works best for you and to be in a comfortable, relaxed environment when attempting self-hypnosis.
Over the past century, scientific research has greatly increased our understanding of the human mind and the ways in which it can be influenced through hypnosis. While there is still much to learn, hypnosis has been shown to be a safe and effective tool for a wide range of applications, including stress management, habit change, and performance enhancement.
How the Unconscious Mind Works
The unconscious mind is a fundamental aspect of our mental functioning and plays a crucial role in hypnosis. It is the part of the mind that is responsible for processing and storing memories, emotions, and habitual behaviors, as well as controlling many of the body’s automatic functions such as breathing and digestion.
During hypnosis, the conscious mind is temporarily bypassed, allowing the hypnotist to communicate directly with the unconscious mind. This allows for the acceptance of positive suggestions and the making of changes on a deeper level.
By working with the unconscious mind through hypnosis, it is possible to make lasting changes in habits, behaviors, and beliefs. This can be particularly useful for overcoming negative thought patterns and behaviors, such as anxiety and phobias, and for improving physical and mental health.
Uses of Hypnosis
Hypnosis has a wide range of applications and can be used for a variety of purposes, including:
Stress management and relaxation: Hypnosis can be an effective tool for managing stress and promoting relaxation. By inducing a state of hypnosis, individuals can learn to release tension and enter a state of deep relaxation, which can help to reduce anxiety and improve overall well-being.
Overcoming negative habits and thought patterns: Hypnosis can be used to help individuals overcome negative habits and thought patterns, such as smoking, overeating, or negative self-perception. By communicating directly with the unconscious mind, it is possible to make positive changes on a deeper level and break free from negative patterns of behavior.
Improving physical and mental health: Hypnosis has been shown to be effective for a wide range of physical and mental health conditions, including chronic pain, irritable bowel syndrome, and insomnia. It can also be used to improve immune function and facilitate healing.
Performance enhancement: Hypnosis can be used to improve performance in various areas, such as public speaking, sports, and academics. By using hypnosis to increase focus and confidence, individuals can improve their performance and achieve their goals.
Safety and Effectiveness of Hypnosis
Hypnosis is generally considered to be a safe and effective practice when performed by a trained and licensed hypnotherapist. However, as with any form of treatment, there are risks and considerations to be aware of.
One potential risk of hypnosis is the possibility of experiencing distress or discomfort during the hypnotic state. It is important to work with a trained and reputable hypnotherapist who can ensure a safe and positive experience.
In addition, hypnosis should not be used as a substitute for medical treatment or psychological therapy. If you are experiencing severe mental health issues or have a medical condition, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional before attempting self-hypnosis or seeking the services of a hypnotherapist.
Despite these considerations, there is a growing body of research that supports the effectiveness of hypnosis for a wide range of applications. Studies have shown that hypnosis can be an effective tool for managing stress and anxiety, overcoming negative habits and thought patterns, and improving physical and mental health. It can also be used for performance enhancement, such as improving public speaking skills or increasing confidence.
Overall, hypnosis is a safe and effective tool when used properly and under the guidance of a trained professional. It can offer many benefits for personal growth and well-being and is worth considering as a potential method for self-improvement.
How to Learn Hypnosis
If you are interested in learning how hypnosis works, there are a variety of resources available on hypnosis to help you get started. Here are a few tips for learning self-hypnosis:

The history of Witchcraft in New York City is a rich and varied one, reflecting the diverse cultures and traditions that have converged in the city over the centuries. From the indigenous Lenape people who practiced traditional forms of spiritual and religious expression, to the European settlers who brought their own beliefs and practices with them, the history of witchcraft in New York City is a complex tapestry of influences and traditions.
Early History of Witchcraft in New York City
One of the earliest recorded instances of witchcraft in New York City occurred in 1657, when a group of Native American women were accused of practicing “diabolical and detestable practices” by the Dutch authorities.
These women were believed to be “powwows,” or practitioners of traditional Native American spiritual traditions, and were accused of using their powers to harm others.
Despite the accusations, there is little evidence to suggest that these women were actually practicing witchcraft in the sense of using supernatural powers to harm others.
The arrival of European settlers in New York City brought with it a new set of beliefs and practices surrounding witchcraft. In the late 17th and early 18th centuries, New York City was a hub of religious and cultural diversity, and many different groups practiced their own forms of spiritual expression.
This included the Quakers, who were known for their belief in the Inner Light, a divine spark within each person that allowed them to connect with the divine. The Quakers were also known for their opposition to violence and their commitment to social justice, and many of their practices were seen as radical or unconventional at the time.
During the colonial period, accusations of witchcraft were relatively rare in New York City, and when they did occur, they were usually dismissed as superstition or fraud. However, the Revolutionary War and the subsequent formation of the United States brought about significant changes in the way that witchcraft was perceived in the city.
The Rise of Occult and Supernatural Interests in the United States
The United States has a long history of interest in the occult and supernatural, dating back to the country’s founding. From the Salem witch trials of the 17th century to the spiritualism craze of the 19th century, Americans have been fascinated by the unknown and the unseen.
In recent years, there has been a resurgence of interest in the occult and supernatural in the United States. This is reflected in the proliferation of occult and supernatural-themed media, such as TV shows, movies, and books, as well as the rise of paranormal investigation groups and supernatural-themed events and festivals.

One factor contributing to the rise in occult and supernatural interests may be a desire for spiritual fulfillment and connection with the divine. Many people are seeking alternative spiritual practices and belief systems that offer a sense of community and connection with something greater than themselves.
Another factor may be a fascination with the unknown and the desire to explore the mysteries of the universe. The popularity of paranormal investigation groups and ghost hunting shows demonstrates a desire to seek out and understand the unseen forces and phenomena that exist in the world.
The rise in occult and supernatural interests in the United States is also reflective of a larger trend towards individualism and a rejection of traditional institutions and belief systems. Many people are seeking out alternative ways of understanding and experiencing the world, and the occult and supernatural offer a wide range of options for exploration and personal growth.
Overall, the rise in occult and supernatural interests in the United States reflects a deep-seated human desire to understand the mysteries of the universe and to connect with something greater than ourselves. Whether driven by spiritual fulfillment, a desire to explore the unknown, or a rejection of traditional institutions, the growing interest in the occult and supernatural is a fascinating aspect of contemporary American culture.

The “Aroma of Tacoma”; the strong noxious odor that has long been present in Tacoma, Washington has caused many to question whether there may be signs of demonic activity at play in the city. Witnesses to the ghastly smell have reported feeling “possessed” and close to being “knocked-out.”
In this article, we will delve into the history of sulfur and its connection to demonology, examining the various traditions and mythologies in which sulfur has been linked to Hell and evil. We will explore the possibility that the sulfuric odor in Tacoma could be a sign of demonic influence, and consider what this might mean for those who have experienced it.
Sulfur has a long and complex history of association with evil in various traditions and mythologies throughout the world. In ancient Greek mythology, sulfur was often associated with the underworld and was used as a symbol of damnation and punishment.
The association between sulfur; often called brimstone, and the underworld may have stemmed from the fact that sulfur was commonly found in volcanic regions, which were often associated with Hell in various religions and mythologies.
The Abrahamic religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, associate Hell and evil with sulfur. In the Hebrew Bible, sulfur is mentioned as a component of the “burning wind” that God sends to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah.
The New Testament states sulfur is one of the elements that will be present in the lake of fire, a place of punishment for the wicked in the afterlife. In Islamic tradition, sulfur is also associated with Hell and is described as one of the substances that will be used to torture the damned.
Sulfur has also been used in various rituals and spells as a means of warding off evil spirits or attracting good luck. In some traditions, sulfur is believed to have protective properties and is used to create protective circles or talismans. The use of sulfur in rituals and spells may have originated from its association with Hell and the belief that it could repel or ward off evil spirits.
Popular movies and television shows, such as “Supernatural,” have helped to perpetuate the belief that sulfur, or the smell of rotten eggs, accompanies the presence of a demon. In the show, the characters often encounter demons that emit a strong sulfuric odor, and the smell is used as a sign of their presence. This portrayal of sulfur as a marker of demonic activity has contributed to the enduring belief that the smell of sulfur is a sign of evil or supernatural activity.
What’s Causing The “Aroma of Tacoma”?
The odor of Tacoma is largely attributed to pollution in Commencement Bay, which was once ranked as one of the most polluted bodies of water in the country, as well as industrial smokestacks and animal rendering facilities. Despite efforts to address the issue, the smell persisted for many years.
In the 1980s, the cleanup of Commencement Bay was placed on the Environmental Protection Agency’s National Priorities list, and the EPA spent 25 years working with businesses and the community on initiatives to restore the bay. The Simpson Tacoma Kraft pulp and paper mill, one of the biggest contributors to the smell, also took steps to reduce their emissions in the 1990s. These efforts have largely been successful in improving the aroma of Tacoma.
