Cancellation and refunds

How billing works

Membership is a monthly subscription billed by Patreon. You are charged when you join and then every month until you cancel. We say this on every sign-up page because a single walk takes an afternoon: if you only came for one walk, cancel as soon as you have finished it.

How to cancel

Log in to Patreon and open your memberships.
Choose Brooklyn Paranormal Society, then Edit and Cancel membership.

You can cancel at any time and you will not be charged again after the date Patreon shows. We cannot cancel for you, because billing lives with Patreon.

What happens to your access

This site asks Patreon about your membership, so access follows what Patreon reports. When your membership is no longer active, or a payment is declined, the walks lock again and the copy saved on your device is removed the next time you open the site. If you re-join, your chosen walk is remembered.

Refunds

If something went wrong, such as you were charged twice, or you paid but could not unlock your walk, email info@bkps.co within 30 days of the charge, with the Patreon account you used. We will fix the problem and, where it is our fault, refund you or ask Patreon to. Because you get immediate access to content, we do not usually refund a charge for a walk you were able to open. Patreon's own refund and chargeback rules also apply to payments made through Patreon.

Changing or upgrading

Basic members can switch their walk once every 30 days.
You can move between Basic and Investigator at any time on Patreon. Patreon calculates any difference in price.

Gifts

If you received a gift membership through Patreon, it works like any other membership for the length of the gift. Patreon explains what happens when a gift ends.
