Terms of use
Last updated October 12, 2026. These terms cover bkps.co, run by Brooklyn Paranormal Society ("BKPS", "we"). By using the site you agree to them.
What you get
BKPS publishes self-guided haunted walking tours of Brooklyn. Access is through a Patreon membership: Basic unlocks one walk of your choice (you may change it once every 30 days) and Investigator unlocks every walk and every new stop, plus the Investigator desk and votes. Prices and details are on our Patreon page, which is the source of truth for what you are charged.
Membership, billing and access
Memberships are sold, billed and cancelled through Patreon under Patreon's own terms. We never see your payment details. The site checks your membership with Patreon, so your access follows what Patreon reports: if your membership ends or a payment is declined, access ends. See Cancellation and refunds.
Personal use
Your membership is for your own personal, non-commercial use. A group walking together may follow along on one phone. Please don't share your login, copy or republish the walks, scrape the site, or resell or lead paid tours using our content. Walks and their text, selection and arrangement belong to BKPS and its contributors.
Walk at your own risk and be a good neighbor
- Every stop is meant to be viewed from a public street, park or walkway. Do not enter private property or any building, and do not trespass. The one exception is the Green-Wood Cemetery walk, which is inside a working cemetery that is open to visitors during its posted hours: follow Green-Wood's rules, stay on its roads and paths, do not touch, climb or lean on monuments, and leave before the gates close. Never enter a cemetery or any property after hours.
- Several stops are private homes or working institutions. Keep your voice down and respect residents.
- You are responsible for your own safety: watch for traffic, weather, uneven ground and the time of day. Do not use your phone while crossing streets. Routes, walking times and coordinates are estimates and may be wrong or out of date.
- Stops marked as legend or visitor report are folklore, not established fact.
Accuracy
We research each stop and link our sources, and we say plainly when we could not find one. We still make mistakes. Tell us at info@bkps.co and we will correct them. We may add, change or remove stops and walks at any time.
Investigator proposals
Investigators may propose places for us to research. Proposing does not guarantee inclusion, and nothing is published automatically. We decide what is featured, and we may decline a place that is private, unsafe or that we cannot source. Supporting us does not change how we judge evidence. If you send us a proposal you confirm it is your own work or that you may share it, and you let us research, edit and publish it with the credit you chose. Read the editorial policy.
Disclaimers and limits
The site and walks are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, BKPS is not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from walking a route, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your membership in the three months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.
